This was truly an experience above our high expectations! We were a 3 generation family travelling together and all of us agreed that this was by far the best house renting experience! The Villas: Large very charming rooms with modern design with both Av and ceiling fan. An outdoor shower to five of the rooms good size, clean and modern. The Facilities, the pool large and perfect for kids play and long enough to excersize. The garden had peacooks, monkeys, and monitors judt close enough to be adventurous to see but not disturbing the pool. The service was great the staff took care of our every need and service was double fast and always delivered with a smile. The curries we ate there was the best I ever had and the Calamari and jumbo prawns very good too. The kids could get pastas, burgers and fries at their delight. At Christmas we had ordered a barbeque with grilled jumbo shrimps an lobster YUM and the House then surprised us with a professional Dance team arriving performing ceremonial dances. The environment: Just next to the house a paradise white sand beach almost without tourists, we agreed that it was just perfect with only a handfull of restaurants just enough to provide some options for eating but few enough so that the beach was almost empty from tourists. We simply loved it!!! Both house and environment. Normally we don’t visit cities twice but for this place we will probably make an exception.

We were 4 people and stayed for 6 days in the two double bed rooms. One of them had a bathtub. The open bathrooms make the Sri Lankan experience complete :-). The rooms are clean and modern with TV and AC. The very well maintained garden invites to explore animals and plants. We harvested coconuts and drank them together with the team. The pool is quiet, beautiful and well maintained. To access the beach you have a 2 minutes walk across the street, which didn't bother us at all. The food is always freshly made and delicious. We booked the cooking class with the staff which gave us information about local spices and cooking traditions. For breakfast you can choose between Sri Lankan and Western Breakfast, both always comes with fresh fruit (prices are very reasonable for the food in the hotel). We booked through the hotel the airport transfer (cheaper than anything else I could find) and also 2 day trips to see Elephants, Turtles, Tea Farms and Galle. We also tried the massage, where a local lady comes to the hotel. The treatment was very relaxing. A special thanks to Damian and Dini, who made our trip unforgettable, they were always very attentive and helpful.

We loved our stay at Handun. We had been in Sri Lanka for 10 days travelling a lot, trekking, and doing safari. So we wanted to totally unwind for 4 nights and we'd heard Talalla was just the place for it. The food was amazing (western and Sri Lankan options for breakfast-v good, and curries for dinner were one of the best I've had) the pool is perfect, the room and open-air bathroom was stunning, bed was super comfy, air-con incredible (and necessary!), staff friendly and helpful (booked our tuk tuk to Matara), and the proximity to the beach is great, just over the road. Also Handun was the most peaceful place we stayed- minus the peacocks and birds singing in the morning which was delightful. A couple of small suggestions we've made to Handun are to do with having a bit more info about what to do in Talalla and surrounding area, and a stocked mini fridge. Dinner at Handun is great

We stayed at Handun villas for 8 nights with our parents and child.. The staff made our vacation superb. The food in villas was perfect better than in all restaurants nearby. The villas has a huge garden and lovely pool area and are located far from the road (just for comparison other hotels has not territory at all and/or built by the road, so you always day and night hear these insane ‘traffic sounds’ ). Special thanks to Chief manager DAMEEN

It was nothing but GORGEOUS! Charmingly designed 120-year-old Dutch Architecture, untouched beautiful beach which is just across the road (ONLY 1 minute, NOT 6minutes as Booking.com says) and moreover, very friendly staffs and their smiles are priceless. Freshly cooked fish/shrimp curry was one of the best we had in Sri Lanka!

Handun villa’s is situated in a beautiful old manor that has been renovated till perfection. Everything looked amazing. The room and the bathroom were clean and big, the shower was great. The swimming pool was nice and clean, with enough sunbeds and pillows. Breakfast was delicious. We also had a very good massage. For lunch and diner we went to Zephyr at the other side of the road, one of the best restaurants in Sri Lanka. The staff of Handun Villa’s was just lovely! Especially Damian and the lady. They made sure you had everything you needed.

Lovely little place just back from the beach. Room was perfect size, very clean and good air-con. Very comfy bed and the pool looked great but we were to busy swimming in the sea to go in. Breakfast was huge and tasty. We did a cooking class one evening which i would really recommend. (You mainly watch the chief while chucking a few pre prepared ingredient in but they very good at explaining) It is a short walk to the beach and woooh what a beach!

This is a delightful and pretty boutique hotel situated in lush gardens. The staff are just great and couldn't do enough for us. The fabulous almost empty beach is a stones throw across the road with a couple of lovely restaurants only a few minutes away.

Good Food. Friendly Service Staff (2 male waiters particular). Wonderful massages. Nice pool. Charming Villa and Bungalows. Nice linens and fluffy pillows. Pretty Colonial building and estate grounds. Generally looks like is does in the pictures. Organised Whale watching excursion for us. Complimentary coconuts from the garden was a lovely touch. We let the villa know what time we were arriving so they could make the room ready. Fresh linen service and room cleaning everyday appreciated.
